Athlete’s Cross-Country Finish Result of Hard Work

A RUN TO MAKE POTTSTOWN PROUD – Pottstown High School athlete Darius Smallwood, competing in the 2020 Pennsylvania Cross Country Championship Race, covered the 3.1-mile course in 17:55 to place 41st among the 130 top runners in the state, the school district reported Saturday (Nov. 7, 2020). In a season that was interrupted by the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic, Smallwood trained during the summer on his own and also dealt with a very shortened dual-meet season. That hard work paid off, the district said.
