Busy Night for Pottsgrove School Committee Meetings

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Tuesday night (today, Nov. 17, 2020) will be a busy one for members of the Pottsgrove Board of School Directors, with three successive, hour-long virtual meetings scheduled to be held by its Athletic, Co-Curricular, and Community Relations; Policy; and Curriculum, Integration, and Technology committees.

Each of the three is open to the public and free to attend. The Athletic Committee session starts at 5:30 p.m., Policy at 6:30 p.m., and Curriculum at 7:30 p.m. Advance registration to receive Zoom conferencing platform links is necessary. On the agenda for the Athletic Committee are an update on the status of winter sports for grades 7-12 for the upcoming PIAA season, discussion of a draft plan for communications throughout the district, and an overview of how the district reports positive cases of COVID to the community.

The Policy Committee expects to cover further discussions of policies regarding school volunteers and student board representatives, and new business dealing with extracurricular activities, interscholastic athletics, concussion management, and sudden cardiac arrest.

Curriculum Committee members, its agenda shows, anticipate discussions of building updates on the transition to hybrid learning, a review of Pennsylvania Department of Education guidance on state testing in Keystone Exams and the PSSA during the pandemic, and its implications; and an update on district Measures of Academic Progress.
