Eleven Local Properties Offered in Judicial Sale
NORRISTOWN PA – Seven properties in Pottstown, three in Lower Pottsgrove, one in West Pottsgrove, and 10 others all are being advertised as available for purchase in a judicial sale scheduled for Dec. 10 (2020; Thursday) beginning at 10 a.m. by the Montgomery County Tax Claim Bureau in an auction to be held online through the GovDeals.com website.
All properties listed in the bureau’s recent legal advertisement also were advertised, but were not purchased, in a similar sale conducted during September 2019, it said.
The Pottstown properties listed are located on Beech, Chestnut, West Fourth, North Hanover, and Manatawny streets, and Lincoln Avenue. Lower Pottsgrove properties listed are found on North Charlotte and North Keim streets, and Hause Avenue. The West Pottsgrove property is on Ash Street. The remaining 10 are in Norristown and Abington.
The bureau, in its notice, acknowledges it is selling the taxable interest in the properties “without guarantee of warranty whatsoever, either as to structure or lack of structures upon the land.” Otherwise, it said properties exposed to sale “will be sold free and clear of all tax and municipal claims, mortgages, liens, charges, and estates of whatsoever kind, except ground rents separately taxed.”
Buying tax delinquent properties can be complicated, experts report, and the bureau advertisement warns prospective purchasers to fully examine the title to any property in which they may be interested. Bidders on the properties must be registered, and complete required paperwork, in advance. Instructions on the sale are available at the bureau website, here, or by calling 610-278-1216.
