Saturday’s Winning Cash 5 Jackpot Ticket Bought in Limerick
LIMERICK PA – Somebody got lucky Saturday (Nov. 28, 2020) in Limerick. Really lucky. Like $200,000 lucky.
Pennsylvania Lottery officials at its headquarters in Middletown PA announced Monday (Nov. 30) that a so-far-unidentified individual purchased a Cash 5 ticket that currently is worth $200,000, but will end up somewhat less once the government withholds appropriate taxes due. The ticket matched all five balls drawn: 05-11-21-42-43.
If you’re hoping lighting will strike twice, the winning ticket was purchased at the Wawa convenience store, 451 W. Ridge Pike. The store earns a $500 bonus for the sale, making it lucky too. Be aware, though, that chances of winning a jackpot are 1 in 962,598. Overall chances of winning any prize? About 1 in 10.5.
Winners won’t be publicly identified until after prizes are claimed and tickets validated, officials said.
In Cash 5, players pay $1 and select five numbers from 1 to 43. Players may select their own numbers or opt for computer-selected quick picks. Players must match all five numbers drawn to win the jackpot. Players also win prizes for matching two, three or four winning numbers. Cash 5 is drawn each evening and tickets can be purchased up to a week in advance.
More than 17,900 other Cash 5 tickets also won prizes in the drawing, the lottery reported, but most of them likely will receive lesser amounts and can claim their lower-tier prizes at any lottery retailer. Anyone holding a jackpot-winning Cash 5 ticket is urged to contact the nearest lottery office for further instructions, or call 1-800-692-7481, it added.
Cash 5 prizes expire one year from the drawing date, by the way. No, we wouldn’t wait that long.
