Usual Sanatoga Places Flooded, But More Quickly
Sanatoga Creek overflowed its banks Monday near the Sanatoga Swim Club (at top), filling adjacent law areas and a small portion of its parking lot near East High Street
SANATOGA PA – Places where Lower Pottsgrove residents have come to expect flooding when heavy rains arrive – on North and South Sanatoga roads (at top and above), on Buchert Road near North Pleasant View Road (below), and on Sunnybrook Road near East High Street – likely were unsurprised by what they saw in those spots Monday (Nov. 30, 2020).
What may have caught them off guard was the water’s volume and ferocity.
Torrents came barreling down the township’s creeks and tributaries in a rush to empty into the Schuylkill River. Banks seemed to swell and then overflow within a much shorter than usual time, area residents claimed.
