The Volvo was occupied by an elderly woman and man, both of whom were extricated and transported by ambulance to Pottstown Hospital. The woman suffered shoulder pain as a result of seat belt tightening, the investigating officer said; the man’s injuries (at top) were not known.

Responding were Goodwill Ambulance, as well as volunteers from the Ringing Hill and Sanatoga fire companies and fire police. Traffic for a time was re-routed around the location.
