Lower Pottsgrove Reappoints Five Township Volunteers

SANATOGA PA – Five individuals who voluntarily serve on Lower Pottsgrove advisory boards or commissions were reappointed to respective terms Monday (Jan. 4, 2021) by the township Board of Commissioners.

They are:

  • William Keohane, to the Planning Commission;
  • James Toth, to the Sewer Authority;
  • Keith Diener, as a full member to the Zoning Hearing Board; and
  • Michael Levering and Bud Lightcap, both to the Building Code Appeals Board.

In personnel-related items Monday, commissioners agreed to advertise an ordinance that would establish a defined contribution retirement plan for new, full-time non-uniformed employees. Existing employees covered by a township defined benefits plan would be unaffected by the change, Solicitor Charles Garner Jr. explained. Board members expect to vote on the contribution plan at their Feb. 1 meeting.

Commissioners also approved paying unused holiday, personal, and vacation time in the amount of $9,907 to township police patrol Ofc. James Kenney. Township Manager Ed Wagner said payouts like that for Kenney were made by the township when necessary, at the end of each calendar year, to clear financial records as required by past practice and state law.
