Gilbertsville’s Penflex Promotes Chlorine Safety

GILBERTSVILLE PA – Penflex Corp., the Gilbertsville-based manufacturer of flexible metal hose and braid, metal bellows, and expansion joints, recently was added to the membership roster of The Chlorine Institute. It’s an association dedicated to promoting safe, secure, and environmentally compatible distribution and use of chlorine chemicals, it announced Thursday (Jan. 7, 2021).

Often used in loading and unloading barges, rail cars, tankers, and filling cylinders, Penflex said its chlorine hoses comply with the institute’s highest industrial safety standards. They include thicker wall designs for chlorine transfer hoses, intended to ensure longer service when used in corrosive applications.

The 185-member institute welcomed Penflex, and said the company had “demonstrated its commitment” to “continuously improving safety performance in the chlor-alkali industry.”
