Lower Pottsgrove Eyes April 22 as Campus ‘Proceed’ Date

SANATOGA PA – If all goes according to plan, the Lower Pottsgrove Board of Commissioners believes it can issue a “notice to proceed” by April 22 (2021; Thursday) on construction of its much-discussed proposed municipal campus at the southeast corner of East High Street and South Pleasant View Road. A tentative timeline on the project was outlined during the board’s Thursday (Jan. 21) meeting.

Commissioner Ray Lopez, a member of the board Infrastructure Committee, said it recently met with township architect Alloy 5 to review a total of 108 basic drawings and schematics for the roughly $8 million project. Some revisions were made to that set, and new drawings are expected to be reviewed during another meeting scheduled for Feb. 3 (Wednesday) at 10 a.m.

If necessary, drawings will be updated and revised one more time, with the goal of putting the board into a position to advertise for bids by Feb. 19, Lopez suggested. Commissioners also would decide by that date when bids would be returned. Its possible, Lopez said, that bids could be awarded by no later than April 5.

The result, if so? An official “go ahead and get digging” notification during the fourth week of April.
