Colleges Identify Winter Grads, Activities, Scholarships

POTTSTOWN PA – Fifty-six residents of Pottstown, Royersford, Limerick, and Sanatoga have been honored for academic achievements during the latest semester, as reported through Tuesday (Feb. 2, 2021) by their respective colleges and universities.

Pottsgrove grad completes accounting internship

Alexander Stump of Pottstown, an accounting major at Albright College and a graduate of Pottsgrove High School, completed an internship as staff accountant with The Loomis Company during Summer 2020. Stump served in the role of at The Loomis Company while studying accounting at Albright College. Founded in 1955, The Loomis Company provides insurance products, and insurance brokerage, administrative benefit, and consultative services.

Pottstown resident an Ohio volunteer on Day of Service

Victoria Keener of Pottstown was among 325 volunteers from the University of Mount Union who spent the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Day of Service working with several community agencies in the Alliance OH area. Her efforts and those of her colleagues were coordinated by the University’s Regula Center for Public Service and Civic Engagement.

Degrees awarded

Quinn Detweiler of Pottstown has earned a master of science in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

Ashley Rohr of Pottstown has graduated with a bachelor of science in social work from Lock Haven University.

Scholarships earned

Madison Fisher of Pottstown has been awarded two scholarships – from the Gary Lee Cramer II Scholarship Endowment Fund, and the Jackson E. Betts Scholarship Endowment Fund – for the 2020-2021 academic year at the University of Findlay.
