KING OF PRUSSIA PA – East- and westbound U.S. Route 422 will be closed during overnight hours March 10-12 (Wednesday through Friday), and detoured between its Armand Hammer Boulevard and Sanatoga interchanges, for bridge beam installations in the projects to replace bridges that carry Park Road and South Pleasant View Road over the expressway in Lower Pottsgrove.

Closure hours during the three-night period are set for midnight through 5 a.m. daily, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced. Replacement of the two bridges is being done ahead of starting a different project to rebuild 422 between the Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road.

During the bridge beam-related closure, eastbound 422 travelers will be directed to use Armand Hammer Boulevard and High Street to access the expressway at Rupert Road. For westbound 422 drivers will be directed to exit at the Sanatoga interchange, and use High Street and Armand Hammer Boulevard to access the expressway.

Drivers are advised to use an allow extra time when traveling near the work areas. Backups and delays will occur, PennDOT warned. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather. H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor on the $7.1 million project, which is expected to finish in late 2022.
