Grandview Racers Get More to Aim for in 2021 Contests

BECHTELSVILLE PA – Race drivers and car owners at Bechtelsville’s Grandview Speedway “will have something more to race for in 2021,” track officials reported, following the announcement that NASCAR is re-introducing its weekly series for regional championships, sponsored by Advance Auto Parts. The Grandview season opens April 10 (2021; Saturday) at 1/3-mile banked clay track, 43 Passmore Rd.

Launching the speedway’s 59th consecutive season are T.P. Trailers Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman competitions.

NASCAR intends to crown champions in four regions: Southeast, Northeast, Midwest and West. Division I regional champions will receive $15,000 prizes for their achievement, and a total of $35,000 will be paid out to the top 10 drivers in each region. A driver’s 14 best finishes within their respective regions will count towards regional championships. Drivers racing in Divisions II-V will compete for regional championship recognition.

The NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series previously crowned regional champions from 1982 to 2004. Besides Grandview, tracks that are part of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series include North Carolina’s historic Hickory Motor Speedway, and California’s Irwindale Speedway. NASCAR also continues to crown track champions, U.S. state and Canadian province champions, and an overall NASCAR Weekly Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series national champion who will earn a $25,000.

Coming : free practice session, and the Rogers Memorial

A free and open-to-the-public track practice session is scheduled for March 27 (Saturday) at noon. It offers fans the opportunity to see many of their favorites testing new equipment. They’ll also be able to purchase season tickets that include all Saturday night events.

The fourth annual Bruce Rogers Memorial – pitting big block engines against small blocks – takes place April 3 (Saturday). The winner of the 50-lapper will earn $7,500. Sportsman stock cars will also be part of the night of racing starting at 7 p.m. For the fourth year in a row the Rogers Memorial will be sponsored by VP Racing Fuels.
