PennDOT Reschedules 422 Bridge Beam Work, Closure

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Bridge beam installation work initially planned by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation for March 10-12 has been rescheduled, it said, for March 17-18 (Wednesday and Thursday) from midnight to 5 a.m. both days. It will result in overnight only closures of east- and westbound U.S. Route 422 between its Armand Hammer Boulevard and Sanatoga interchanges.

PennDOT contractors will be working on bridges that carry South Park and South Pleasant View roads across 422 in Lower Pottsgrove.

Ahead of the closure, on both March 17 and 18 from 9 a.m. to midnight, left lanes will be closed on 422 in both directions between Armand Hammer Boulevard and Sanatoga.

Then, during the closure, eastbound 422 drivers will be detoured and directed to use Armand Hammer Boulevard and High Street to access the expressway at Rupert Road. Westbound 422 drivers will be directed to exit at the Sanatoga interchange and use High Street and Armand Hammer Boulevard to access the expressway.

Drivers are advised to use an allow extra time for travel near or through the work area. PennDOT expects backups and delays will occur. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.
