Drivers Had to Crane Their Necks to See This

WAY, WAY UP THERE – A worker seems dwarfed by both the wireless communications tower on which he’s standing, and the lengthy yellow crane that lifted him high above the ground to reach his position. The scene was visible to drivers Wednesday (March 10, 2021) at mid-day as they traveled through Sassamansville on either Route 663 or Hoffmansville Road. The tower is a facility of Crown Castle, a company spokesperson said Tuesday (March 16), and reportedly is located about 1,000 feet east of 663 on Hoffmansville Road. It’s unknown whether personnel were performing maintenance or installing equipment at the free-standing structure, which has a reported above-ground height of 64.6 meters, or 211.9 feet.
