Boulder, Tree Stopped Car in North Keim Accident
LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – A large boulder, which serves as a landscaping element at the edge of a residential driveway on the 1900 block of North Keim Street in Lower Pottsgrove, also played a role as a car stop during a single motor vehicle accident that occurred Thursday (March 11, 2021) at about 1 p.m. on North Keim between Yerger Road and North Charlotte Street.
Township police said no one was injured in the incident, but the damaged vehicle could not be driven and was towed away. Because the police investigation is continuing, details about the driver or the cause of the accident were unavailable to The Post at the time.
Officers said the car involved – a gray-colored, late model four-door Chevrolet occupied only by the driver – veered off the right side of the highway as it traveled toward North Charlotte, crossed its shoulder and an adjacent grassy area, and came to rest against the big rock and a nearby tree.
In addition to police patrols, volunteer firefighters and fire police from the Sanatoga and Ringing Hill companies also responded to the scene. For about a half-hour, fire police blocked North Keim and detoured traffic at both the North Charlotte and Yerger intersections.
