Dermatology Firm Opens 22nd Practice in Lewisburg

AMITY PA – Pennsylvania Dermatology Partners, headquartered on Benjamin Franklin Highway East in Amity, has announced the opening in Lewisburg, Union County, of its 22nd office with the acquisition of the practice of Dr. Robert Long, who is retiring after 40 years.
Separately, it also reported the addition of a new physician assistant who will practice in three offices in Berks and Lehigh counties.
Expanding to Lewisburg
Board-certified dermatologist Dr. Richard Cordova and nurse practitioner Brandi LaFountain will continue caring for dermatology patients in Lewisburg as Long’s successors. The team is currently accepting new patient appointments with next-day openings, and has worked with Long to ensure a smooth transition.
Cordova completed his osteopathic internship and family practice residency at St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown, where he received its Intern of the Year 1999 award and in 2001 was named as chief resident of its family practice program. After completing his residency he entered into a dermatology fellowship in Hazelton, resulting in board certification during 2007.
LaFountain is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and is a member of the National Academy of Dermatology Nurse Practitioners, and the Society of Dermatology Physicians Assistants. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Alvernia University. LaFountain worked as a registered nurse for more than 10 years before continuing her education at Widener University, where she pursued a masters of science degree with a focus on family health.

Physician assistant introduced
Kate Matekovic has joined Pennsylvania Dermatology Partners as a physician assistant practicing in its Douglassville, West Lawn, and Whitehall offices.
Matekovic attended Pennsylvania State University and completed a bachelor of science degree in kinesiology. She continued her education at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine, obtaining a masters of physician assistant studies degree. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and Delaware.
Matekovic is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants, and Pennsylvania Dermatology Physician Assistants. She has worked in dermatology since graduating in 2019. She currently treats patients of all ages, and is accepting new patients.
