Route 100 Crash-Reducing Improvements Continue

POTTSTOWN PA – State-planned safety improvements for travel and to reduce high-speed crashes will cause periodic lane closures next Monday through Friday (April 5-9, 2021) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily at any one of eight different intersections on Route 100 in Pottstown Borough, and Upper Pottsgrove and Douglass (Montgomery) townships.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said work locations in both directions of Route 100 are at:

  • King Street and Shoemaker Road in Pottstown,
  • State Street and Moyer Road in Upper Pottsgrove, and
  • Rick Road, Grosser Road, Jackson Road, and County Line Road in Douglass.

PennDOT is having line striping and delineators installed. Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are depend on acceptable weather.

Kuharchik Construction Inc. of Exeter, is the general contractor on the $5,996,57 project. Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in spring 2023.
