Two Weeks of Lane Closures Ahead on 422 for Bridges

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Right lanes on east- and westbound U.S. Route 422 will be closed weekdays (Monday through Friday) during a two-week period from April 5 (2021) through April 16, between its Sanatoga and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges, for continued construction work on South Pleasant View Road (at top) and South Park Road bridges that cross the expressway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced.

  • On the eastbound side, PennDOT said, work is scheduled daily from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning; and
  • On the westbound side, it’s scheduled from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. the following afternoon.

Travelers are advised to allow extra time nearing the work area, because backups and delays will occur, PennDOT said. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather. Work on the project will comply with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health COVID-19-specific guidance.

Replacement of the Pleasant View and Park road bridges is being done ahead of starting a project to rebuild 422 between the Sanatoga interchange and Porter Road. H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor on the $7.1 million project. It is expected to finish in late 2022.
