Three Polling Places Changing in Lower Salford

LOWER SALFORD PA – Three polling places in Lower Salford Township are among 15 that are being relocated for the 2021 elections, with the unanimous approval Thursday (April 1, 2021) of the Montgomery County Board of Elections. The board’s solicitor indicated that, for all former sites, the locations were either unavailable or their owners requested they be moved.

Another 22 polling places could be relocated later this month, the solicitor added, but a list of those affected municipalities has not yet been made public.

In Lower Salford, according to reported information:

  • Polling Place 1 will be relocated to the township municipal building, 379 Main St., Harleysville (at top), because the former location, at Indian Valley Middle School, will be unavailable;
  • Polling Place 2 also will move to the municipal building, again because the middle school is unavailable; and
  • Polling Place 4 will be moved to the Encore Experiences Senior Center, 312 Alumni Ave., Harleysville, from its former location at Oak Ridge Elementary School. That change returns voters to their original polling site, the board noted.

Other municipalities affected by changes included Abington, Hatboro, Horsham, Souderton, Springfield, Upper Dublin, and Whitpain. The 2021 primary election is scheduled for May 18; the general election, for Nov. 2
