Tower Offering Ages 16-17 Vaccination Appointments

WEST READING PA – Individuals age 16 and 17, accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and only with an available appointment, can schedule to receive coronavirus vaccinations at Tower Health locations where vaccines are available, the health care provider said Thursday (April 15, 2021). Those locations have included Pottstown and Phoenixville hospitals within past weeks.

Opening vaccinations to the limited group of younger ages conforms with new state Department of Health guidelines, Tower noted, and for them at its facilities only the two-dose Pfizer vaccine will be given, it added. Tower also uses Moderna vaccines, but only for older individuals. The number of vaccinations administered depends on supplies provided to Tower by the state.

Anyone who now qualifies to be vaccinated can schedule an appointment online by creating and using a MyTowerHealth account, here. Those seeking appointments need not be Tower Health patients, and individuals with limited or no internet access can call 484-659-3000, Mondays through Fridays between 7:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., to schedule first-dose appointment. Second dose appointments are scheduled during first dose appointment.

Positive coronavirus infection cases continue in across Montgomery County and southeastern Pennsylvania. Vaccinations are among the primary tools used to the fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
