Lower Frederick Introduces Draft 2040 Plan on May 6

LOWER FREDERICK PA – The draft of a long-range plan intended to guide Lower Frederick Township in decisions about its future growth, development, parks, open space, and infrastructure is nearly complete. Now its Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee wants to give the public an advance look at its efforts, as well as a chance to comment and ask questions, during a May 6 (2021; Thursday) virtual meeting.

Proposed chapters of the plan, known as Lower Frederick 2040, are already available the township website, here. They’ve won praise from township Manager Mark Hudson, who noted the “hard-working” volunteer-member committee has devoted about two years to its creation and sought to best represent the varied interests of their fellow residents.

The Zoom meeting is free to attend, open to the public, and scheduled for 6:30 p.m. It will start with a video (above) prepared by the Montgomery County Planning Commission and Community Planner John Miklos, both of which have assisted the committee in its work. That will be followed by the committee’s question-and-answer session, and any further discussion.

The May 6 meeting will be available online at this web address: https://zoom.us./j/9421239469. If prompted, enter the meeting ID number, 942-123-9469. No computer? No problem! The committee also will broadcast the meeting’s audio portion by phone; call toll-free to 1-929-205-6099. Phone callers will have the same opportunities to ask questions and comment.
