LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – U.S. Route 422 drivers will encounter weekday right-lane closures in both directions from Monday (May 10, 2021) through May 20 (Thursday), between its Sanatoga and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges, for continuing construction to replace the bridges that separately carry South Park and South Pleasant View roads over the expressway in Lower Pottsgrove, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

The scheduled work times are on:

  • Eastbound 422, from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning; and
  • Westbound 422, from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. the following afternoon.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. Backups and delays will occur, PennDOT said. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather. Work on the project will comply with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health coronavirus guidelines, it added.

Replacement of the is an advance contract before the state starts an accompanying project to reconstruct 422 between its Sanatoga Interchange and Porter Road. H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor on the $7.1 million effort, which is expected to finish in late 2022.
