Another Successful Drug Collection for Douglass Police

MORE DRUG COLLECTION SUCCESS – Douglass (Montgomery) Township’s Police Department collected more than 63 pounds of unwanted, expired, unneeded, or otherwise unused medications and took them out of public and private circulation during its recent participation in the “National Drug Take Back Initiative” sponsored by the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office. The department was among almost 30 law enforcement agencies working to eliminate the risk of old medications getting into the wrong hands. It has annually been part of the program that began in 2013, according to a Facebook post. As of April 24 (2021) it had amassed “over 1,638 pounds of medications for proper destruction and disposal,” it said. The department’s leadership and staff expressed their thanks “for everyone’s participation in the program and keeping our community safe.”
