First Peddle and Paddle Leaves Pottstown Saturday

POTTSTOWN PA – The first “Pedal & Paddle” excursion along the Schuylkill River Trail for the 2021 season is scheduled for Saturday (May 15, 2021) from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., starting from the Schuylkill River Greenways office, 140 College Dr.

The activity will begin with a 4.5-mile bike ride along the Schuylkill River Trail, led by Take It Outdoors, a Greenways partner. “Participants will first stop at the historic Morlatton Village for an outdoor educational tour of its 18th century buildings,” according to the organization’s description. “Then participants will continue to Douglassville’s Ganshahawny Park to enjoy a boxed meal before paddling on the river.”

“At Ganshahawny Park, the group will receive a brief introduction to kayaking from Take it Outdoors before paddling back to Pottstown along the Schuylkill River,” it added.

Expert guides, all gear, and food is included on the trip. Participants must be age 16 or older, and the event is limited to 15 people. Advance registration is required, and tickets cost $40; both, as well as additional information, are available here.
