Pruss Hill Road Properties Lose Power in Accident

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Properties on Pruss Hill Road in Lower Pottsgrove, east of North Pleasant View Road, were left without electrical power for a portion of Friday afternoon beginning shortly before 12:40 p.m. The height of construction equipment atop a towed trailer apparently took down utility lines suspended over the roadway from nearby poles, Montgomery County emergency dispatchers indicated.

No one appeared to have been injured in the mishap (at top and below), which involved a single truck-and-trailer combination. Several bundled wires fell to the pavement east of Snell Road. Two township police department patrol vehicles arrived at the scene, as did volunteer fire police units from the Sanatoga and Ringing Hill fire companies. At dispatcher requests they blocked access to Pruss Hill, and detoured traffic at its intersections with Snell and Rupert roads.

Home owners in the 2200 block of Pruss Hill, slightly more than a half-mile west of the accident, reported their power went out when it occurred. Metropolitan Edison utility crews were called to repair the damaged lines, dispatchers added.
