Local Volunteers Assist at Colebrookdale House Fire
COLEBROOKDALE PA – Volunteers from the Ringing Hill, West End, Gilbertsville, and New Hanover fire companies all were called on the second alert of a two-alarm house fire Monday (May 17, 2021) at around 1:45 p.m. in the 1600 block of Weisstown Road in Colebrookdale Township, according to Montgomery County emergency dispatchers.
Two people occupying the building successfully raced out to safety; no one was injured.
Flames reportedly engulfed the home, and were seen shooting through the roof, according to an article in the Reading Eagle newspaper. An official from Boyertown Area Fire and Rescue – which was joined in first response by Eastern Berks and Earl Township fire companies, as well as Boyertown Ambulance – said the building was a total loss.
A Pennsylvania state police fire marshal reportedly is investigating the incident.
