Tower Health Reaffirms Facility Mask Requirements
WEST READING PA – All employees, medical staff, patients, and visitors inside Tower Health facilities, – including Pottstown and Phoenixville hospitals, its physicians’ offices, and urgent care centers – will continue to be required to wear coronavirus-protective face masks, the health care provider reaffirmed Monday (May 17, 2021).
Affected interiors include all clinical and non-clinical areas such as hallways, dining areas, and common spaces, it added.
Although the federal Centers for Disease Control last week announced that individuals fully vaccinated against COVID-19 do not need to wear a mask outside or indoors,, both it and the Pennsylvania Department of Health said health care settings were among exceptions to the rule.
Tower also will “continue to check temperatures of all staff and visitors as they enter our facilities,” as recommended by the state, its Medical Director for Infection Prevention Dr. Debra Powell said.
