Near 422, Expect Evergreen Road Inspection Delays

LIMERICK PA – State Department Of Transportation bridge inspectors will have flashlights and other tools handy Wednesday (May 26, 2021) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. as they conduct an at-least-biennial inspection of bridge structures on Evergreen and Old Township Line roads, between Rupert Road and Ridge Pike in Limerick Township.

PennDOT warned drivers should be prepared to endure right-lane closures in both directions during the period. They’re advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas, because slowdowns may occur. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather. The work will comply with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health pandemic-related guidance.

The inspections are part of PennDOT’s program, it said, to inspect bridges at least once every two years in an effort to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
