Celebrate Friday with Foods from Althouse Market

UPPER POTTSGROVE PA – The farmer’s market at Althouse Arboretum, 1794 Gilbertsville Rd., returns Friday (May 28, 2021) from 4-7 p.m. for its first day of the season, and then will continue on the second and fourth Fridays monthly through Sept. 24. The arboretum’s local farmers do “things naturally and sustainably,” it said, and advance orders (available here) are encouraged.

The market will be held in the arboretum’s meadow, so social distancing can be observed. All customers are asked to wear masks. Hand sanitizer will be available.

Among the market’s core providers are Tine and Toil Farm, Hinterhof Farms, Amazing Acres Goat Dairy, Kaizen Farm, Spotted Hill Farm, Sleepy Cat Urban Winery, Ethel’s Artisan Vinegars, Fungified Farm, and Crusty Delight.

In addition, the arboretum’s student volunteers continue to offer native and other plants, featuring garden perennials, ceramic pots, and 3-to-5-foot trees for yards. All proceeds will be used to support the arboretum. Plants are also available to purchase online at its EcoStore; order plants and items there in advance, and pick them up on the farmhouse porch when you come to the market.
