422 Lane Closures Return This Week in Limerick

LIMERICK PA – Drivers on westbound U.S. Route 422 will encounter left- or right-lane closures overnights beginning Tuesday (June 1, 2021) and continuing through Friday (June 5), from 6:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. the following day, between Township Line and Airport roads for paving operations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

Travelers are advised to allow extra time when moving through the work area. Backups and delays will occur, PennDOT warned. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather. Work on this project will comply with federal Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health COVID-19 safety guidance.

The work is part of the continuing effort to rehabilitate pavement and repair seven structures along a five-mile section of 422 between the Royersford-Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges across Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships, it added.

PennDOT’s general contractor for the project, H&K Group Inc. of Skippack, will mill, overlay and rehabilitate existing U.S. 422 pavement. It also is expected to perform bridge deck repairs, concrete and joint patching, sealing and drainage improvements; install new guide rail and rumble strips; and repair or replace damaged traffic signs along the corridor.
