MCCC Program Prepares First-Timers for College

POTTSTOWN PA – A program to better prepare high school graduates who are moving onto college, for what may be their adjustment to post-secondary education, will be offered in early July at the Pottstown campus of Montgomery County Community College. The deadline to apply for the program, which includes free introductory classes, is June 11 (2021; Friday) at 5 p.m.

The sessions are available to all first-time college students at MCCC’s Pottstown Campus who plan to major in Liberal Studies, Business Administration, and Accounting and Management associate degree programs. A U.S. Department of Education grant provides its funding.

The College Connections Experience, as the program is called, provides what the college describes as “guided pathways” through the first year of a college education.

In addition to the classes, its resources include textbook and laptop assistance, and academic, career and financial advising. “Success coaches will work closely with students throughout the program to facilitate academic and professional development opportunities,” it said.

MCCC is accepting applications now for the next series, which starts July 6 (Tuesday). For more information or to register, send an e-mail to
