Pottstown Memorial Day Ceremonies Honor the Fallen

POTTSTOWN PA – Under a bright sun, with temperatures in the mid-60s and only a light breeze, Pottstown area veterans and residents united Monday (May 31, 2021) at 10 a.m. in the borough’s Memorial Park to observe Memorial Day 2021. A large crowd paid homage to all those in military service who lost their lives in service to the nation, fighting battles across the globe.

This year’s tribute was organized by leaders of several veterans groups, in coordination with the non-profit Veterans Island Project. Its president, Cathy Paretti, talked with The Post (in the video above) about the day’s significance, the many portions of the ceremony, and the sacrifices made by local residents and others. Pottstown state Rep. Tim Hennessey was among the guest speakers.
