422 Lane Closures Next Week for Three Projects

LOWER POTTSGROVE PA – Drivers on U.S. Route 422 in Lower Pottsgrove and Limerick townships “will encounter lane closures in both directions next week for various construction activities under two separate improvement projects,” the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said. All begin Monday (June 14, 2021), it added.

The locations and work schedules are on:

  • Westbound 422, between Township Line Road and Airport Road in Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove, Monday through Friday (June 14-18) from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily, with left- or right-lane closures for asphalt sealing;
  • Eastbound 422, between the Armand Hammer Boulevard and Sanatoga interchanges in Lower Pottsgrove, Monday through July 1 (Thursday) from 9 a.m. to 5 a.m. the following morning on weekdays only, with right- or left-lane closures for pipe replacement; and
  • Westbound 422, between the Sanatoga and Armand Hammer Boulevard interchanges in Lower Pottsgrove, Monday through July 1 (Thursday) from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. the following afternoon on weekdays only, with right- or left-lane closures for pipe replacement.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. Backups and delays will occur, PennDOT said. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.

The asphalt sealing is part of a project to rehabilitate pavement and repair seven structures along a five-mile section of U.S. 422 between the Royersford-Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges. The pipe replacement is part of a project to replace the structures that carry Park Road and South Pleasant View Road over 422.
