Gilbertsville Fire Station Now Just A Memory
GILBERTSVILLE PA – The Gilbertsville Fire and Rescue Company station on East Philadelphia Avenue has been demolished.
Company volunteers, on its Facebook page, reported the last of the building was razed Friday evening (June 11, 2021). A new, combined fire house and Douglass (Montgomery) Township Police Department building will be erected on the same site. The fire company said that work should take another six months or so.
Video footage (above) of the contractor’s efforts was taken by The Post on June 3 (Thursday). It also can be seen at The Post’s YouTube channel, here.
