422 Lane, Shoulder Closures Next Week in Limerick

LIMERICK PA – Westbound U.S. Route 422 drivers will encounter alternating left- and right-lane road and shoulder closures next Monday through Friday (June 21-25, 2021), daily from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. between Township Line and Evergreen roads, in Limerick for asphalt sealing and sign installations, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

The work is part of the continuing project to rehabilitate pavement and repair seven structures along a five-mile section of 422, between the Royersford-Trappe and Sanatoga interchanges across Limerick and Lower Pottsgrove townships.

Drivers are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work area. Backups and delays will occur, PennDOT warned. All scheduled activities depend on acceptable weather.

H&K Group Inc. of Skippack is the general contractor on the project. It will mill, overlay and rehabilitate existing U.S. 422 pavement; perform bridge deck repairs, concrete and joint patching, sealing and drainage improvements; install new guide rail and rumble strips; and repair or replace damaged traffic signs along the corridor.

The work will comply with Centers for Disease Control and state Department of Health COVID-19 guidance.
