Local Youth Summer Internships Remain Available

POTTSTOWN PA – A limited number of paid internship opportunities for youths in Montgomery County remain available from the non-profit Trellis for Tomorrow organization, the Pottstown-based Tri-County Community Network newsletter reported Friday (June 18, 2021).

The work is being offered to those between ages 13 and 18 to work and learn between Monday (June 21) and Aug. 12 in community gardens already established in the Pottsgrove area, Pottstown, Phoenixville, and Spring City PA.

Trellis’ Youth Seed Enterprise is an 8-week summer program in which teens care for organic gardens and create businesses to distribute their produce. Along the way they learn about youth leadership, sustainability, food systems, and social justice. Applications are being accepted online, here. More information and answers to questions are available by e-mail to Program Manager Grace Hardy at ghardy@trellis4tomorrow.org.

Trellis also is looking to affiliate with other non-profits that may want to host internships. Trellis will train, guide, and provide some support for interns, who would then work for the non-profit hosts. Contact Hardy at the above e-mail address about that, too.
