State Theatre Keeps Kids Entertained This Summer

BOYERTOWN PA – Summer movies for children, with ticket prices that start at $1 and packages of snacks available from $3, are being offered weekly on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. through the end of July at the Boyertown State Theatre, 61 N. Reading Ave.

“We are excited to bring back the epic cinematic experience to the big screen,” State Theatre Manager Shannon Shaw said. “There is something wonderful about the escapism that cinema provides, and I think we could all use a little escape today!”

The summer movie schedule starts Thursday (today, June 24, 2021) with a screening of “Sing,” followed by:

  • Trolls World Tour, June 30 and July 1;
  • Megamind, July 7-8;
  • The Croods: A New Age, July 14-15;
  • The Boss Baby: Cookies are for Closers, July 21-22; and
  • The House with a Clock in its Walls, July 28-29.

Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the box office. Refreshments available for purchase in its concession stand. The summer program is being sponsored by the Gabelsville Athletic Association, Junior Women’s Club of Boyertown, and Keystone Fire Company.

Under state guidelines the theater has re-opened at full capacity and implemented safety protocols to ensure an enjoyable experience for audiences. The National Association of Theatre Owners confirms Boyertown State Theatre is rated as “cinema safe.”

Boyertown State Theatre is a not-for-profit run by the State Theatre Preservation Society to ensure the preservation of the theatre building, which was founded in 1912.
