North Coventry Investigates Vehicle Theft Attempt

NORTH COVENTRY PA – The attempted-but-failed overnight theft (June 29-30, 2021; Tuesday and Wednesday) of a motor vehicle parked in the 1100 block of East Schuylkill Road in being investigated by the North Coventry Police Department, its CrimeWatch website reported.

Someone “gained access to a red 2018-model Honda HRV and attempted to start it,” the department reported. They “were unsuccessful,” it added, but its officers are pursing the case and are asking for public help. Anyone who may have information on the attempt is requested to call the department at 610-323-8360, or submit information anonymously using the website’s “Submit A Tip” page, here.

Vehicle thefts, and particularly warm-weather thefts from vehicles, continue to be a problem across western Montgomery, northern Chester, and eastern Berks counties, area police chiefs say. The department’s report offered a reminder to township residents “to not leave valuables in their unattended vehicles, and to lock their cars and residences when unattended.”
