Firecracker 40 for Sportsman Set Saturday at Grandview
BECHTELSVILLE PA – As a result of last Saturday’s (July 3, 2021) rainout, a double-header show of racing – topped by the Firecracker 40 for Sportsman – will be featured this Saturday (July 10) beginning at 7:30 p.m. at Grandview Speedway, 43 Passmore Rd. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m.
Interest is running high with $2,000 being offered to the Firecracker 40 winner. The increased purse is attracting veteran racing talent Kenny Gilmore, the current T.P. Truck Equipment point leader; defending T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman champion Brian Hirthler; well-knowns Cole Stangle, Kyle Lilick, and Dylan Hoch; and others locally and from outside the area.
The T.P. Trailers Modifieds will be the second half of the show. It’s part of the NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series, in which tracks from across the nation are participating.
At 5 p.m. at the main admission gate area, Modified racer Bobby Gunther Walsh will have his No. 65 car on display, and will give away American flags and candy provided by two of his car sponsors, “Mike & Ike” and “Hot Tamales.” Chapel on the Hill takes place at 4:30 p.m. in the first-turn pavilion.
Tickets are available at the gate. Admission costs $22 for adults, and $10 for ages 6-11. Those age 5 and younger are admitted free. Pit admission costs $35. For more information, call Grandview at 610-754-7688.
