Pottsgrove Instructor Conducts Free Kimberton Concert Saturday

PHOENIXVILLE PA – “Peter and the Wolf,” the popular “symphonic fairy tale for children” by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev about a young boy and his capture of a wild wolf, will be performed for free Saturday (July 10, 2021) by the Kimberton Summer Arts Orchestra at the Kimberton Community Park Amphitheater, 2202 Kimberton Rd.

Phoenixville physician Dr. Richard Fried will provide the family story’s narration.

Leading the performance will be Conductor William Einhorn (at top), who also serves as orchestra director and music instructor at Pottsgrove High and Middle schools in the Pottstown-based Pottsgrove School District. Einhorn additionally is Principal Viola of the Main Line Symphony Orchestra in Wayne PA, as well as its assistant conductor.

Those who plan to attend are asked to register with the Kimberton Arts Alliance, here. Saturday’s program is the opening presentation of the alliance’s mulitple-performance Summer Arts Series that stretches into October. In addition to the orchestral piece, it offers several other programs that feature chamber music and bluegrass. Some of them also are presented at no charge.
