Bear Creek Activity Center Centralizes Summer Fun
MACUNGIE PA – New outdoor activities were added to the 2021 summer schedule at Bear Creek Mountain Resort (at top), 35 miles north of Pottstown, and with them came the challenge of organizing the best possible guest experience. That’s been met by the resort’s new Mountain Activity Center, established earlier this year, it announced Monday (July 12).
Creation of a new center for activities meant more work and more staff, filled in part by new hires. Their help, and that of Bear Creek’s existing marketing and event team, brought the center together quickly and in time for its outdoor activity business to boom, according to center Coordinator Jake Henschel.
His goal, Henschel said, “is to get people outside and enjoying the nature that Bear Creek has to offer. We love seeing people have fun doing unique things that help move them out of their comfort zones and into a good place.” Guests currently have access to archery, ax throwing, guided mountain tours, and yoga. All ticketed activities can be purchased online in advance. Same day purchases may be available too, but limited quantities could sell out.
The resort’s hotel guests can also stop by the center for exclusive hotel amenities that include pond activities, lawn games, disc golf, tennis, and basketball. The hotel front desk will continue to serve the guests in their regular capacity, but the center provides another way for guests to easily access everything the resort has to offer.
The center is located in the lodge plaza next to the ski rental building. The location was chosen because of its familiarity to guests who visit Bear Creek during the winter.
“Our Snowsports School and other winter mountain operational departments are well established,” Marketing Content Strategist Arialle Hess noted. “This activity center is the next major step in bringing it all together, to truly become a reputable year-round resort that can resonate with both the local community and destination visitors.”
The center is not yet in full bloom. With a giant swing and mountain bike rentals becoming available in the next few weeks, as well as a partnership with Slide the Slopes, there will be even more activities to do this summer.
Bear Creek hosts more than 140 weddings a year, dozens of conferences, bike races, outdoor events, and festivals and activities, and welcomes more than 200,000 visitors and guests per year. It also offers skiing for all levels. For more information, call 610-682-7100.
