County Makes New Funds Available for Non-Profits

NORRISTOWN PA – Western Montgomery County non-profit organizations are poised to benefit from new money intended to help support agencies affected by the pandemic. Applications for funding from the “MontcoStrong 2021 Nonprofit Resiliency Grant Program” can be submitted beginning Monday (July 19, 2021), the TriCounty Community Network newsletter reported.

A similar program was available during 2020, but this year’s edition includes significant differences, the network said. The types of organizations that are eligible, the eligible use of funds, and the amount of grant dollars for which an organization can apply have changed. Applications must be submitted by no later than Aug. 10.

A total of $5 million is available, to be administered by the county Redevelopment Authority for non-profit expenses incurred between Jan. 1 and Oct. 31, 2001. Amounts are determined by program guidelines. Grant applications will be reviewed by a multi-disciplinary team.

“Nonprofit organizations that provide help with food, healthcare, housing, childcare, mental resources, elder care and more are critical to the restoration of our communities as we move towards more normalcy,” county Board of Commissioners’ Vice Chair Ken Lawrence Jr. said.
