Bally Pool Looks for Assistant Manager, Lifeguards
BALLY PA – The borough-owned Bally Community Pool is looking to hire a part-time assistant manager and part-time lifeguards, Borough Council member Joshua Sloan reported Monday (July 19, 2021). The pool has become a popular place for families and teens (at top, above and right) during the hot summer weather, and the council is doing its best to keep it operating with adequate staffing, Sloan indicated.
The temporary and part-time assistant manager position involves management of the pool’s day-to-day operations. They include oversight of staff, operations and maintenance needs; scheduling of staff and functions; monitoring, ordering and obtaining supplies; and dealing with visitor issues like complaints, injuries, behavior, and compliance with rules.
An ideal candidate, according to borough advertising on the pool’s Facebook page, would be someone age 18 or older who is “assertive, reliable, has transportation, (is) able to work under pressure, and available to work flexible hours.” Those interested in applying can find an application on the borough website, here.
For the part-time lifeguard positions – the borough is looking for several, Sloan said – applicants must be certified or be interested in becoming certified. Those candidates should contact the borough office by phone at 610-845-2351, or by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
“It’s tough to keep these small pools open,” Sloan said of Bally’s hiring efforts, which at this time of year are being reflected in other municipalities too. “But but we’re trying not to lose this local landmark,” he added.
