Reading Man Detained After Casino Resort Incident
VALLEY FORGE PA – A 46-year-old Reading man, who was caught by Valley Forge Casino Resort video surveillance cameras as he allegedly removed a monetary bet from a blackjack table after losing the hand, was detained Saturday (July 17, 2021) shortly before 1 a.m. by Pennsylvania State Police. They were on duty at the casino, 1160 First Ave., on behalf of the state Bureau of Gaming Enforcement.
The patron, identified by a driver’s license, was held by troopers at their office on the premises for fingerprinting and photos. He was then “permanently evicted from the casino and escorted off property,” they reported in a public information release published Monday (July 19.) The release claimed the casino chips had a stated value, and indicated they were considered “stolen.”
The incident is under investigation, it added. Troopers did not indicate what charges, if any, were lodged or could be brought at a later date.
