Area Volunteers Among 45 Firefighter Graduates
CONSHOCKEN PA – Firefighters from the Ringing Hill, Trappe, and Black Rock volunteer fire companies are among 45 individuals who graduated Wednesday (July 21, 2021) from the Pennsylvania Entry Level Firefighter Training program conducted by the Montgomery County Fire Academy. They now join others protecting their communities in 30 fire companies across Montgomery, Chester, and Delaware counties.
The graduating class included, according to information from the companies’ Facebook pages:
- Jen Hinkley of the Ringing Hill Volunteer Fire Company in Lower Pottsgrove Township;
- Trip Greenwald of Trappe Fire Company No. 1; and
- Zach Steiger of the Black Rock Volunteer Fire Company in Oaks.
Fire Academy Director Thomas J. Garrity, during the virtual graduation ceremony, praised the students’ “perseverance in working towards and achieving national Fire Fighter I certification during the COVID-19 pandemic.” He said it served as “a testament to the dedication and resolve of these local emergency services professionals.”
