Three Races Scheduled Saturday at Grandview Track
BECHTELSVILLE PA – The 602 Sportsman Mini Series will be in action Saturday (July 31, 2021) for the fourth time this season, when another triple show of stock car racing action is presented at the one-third-mile, banked clay track of Grandview Speedway in Bechtelsville. The night will also include the NASCAR T.P. Trailers Modifieds, and the NASCAR T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman.
Racing will get the green at 7:30 p.m. Spectator gates open at 5:30 p.m. Adult admission is $18; children age 11 and younger are admitted free.
Headlining Saturday’s Meet and Greet event at 5 p.m. is Modified ace Jared Umbenhauer, along with Sportsman talents Kenny Bock and Lex Shive. An added attraction will be the appearance of NASCAR Xfinity driver David Starr. There also will be a Chapel on the Hill worship service at 4:30 p.m. in the Turn One pavilion.
With a NASCAR T.P. Trailers Modified win last Saturday (July 24), his third of the season, Craig Von Dohren was able to edge a little closer to point leader Brett Kressley in the chase for the championship.
Defending champion Von Dohren is in search of his 12th title; Kressley is shooting for his first. Latest standings have Kressley with 3,507 points. Von Dohren is just 94 behind. Umbenhauer is third at 3,149.
In the Truck Equipment Sportsman division, Kenny Gilmore leads point standings with 2,518, followed by Dylan Hoch at 2,254. Close behind is defending champion Brian Hirthler with 2,134.
Hoch sits atop the 602 Sportsman Mini Series standings with 700 points. Glenn Strunk is just 16 points behind at 684.
