Need Proof It’s Summer? Eastwood Classic Returns
POTTSTOWN PA — For a 10th year, hundreds of collector cars can be expected to gather Saturday (July 31, 2021) from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the borough headquarters of Eastwood Company, 263 Shoemaker Rd., for the 2021 edition of its annual Eastwood Summer Classic Car Show and Community Day.
The event is free to attend by members of the public, and optional registration to enter a car in the display costs only $5.
The Summer Classic started as a car show to celebrate Eastwood’s local customers and their vehicles. It’s since grown into one of the largest such events in the region, drawing vehicles from across the East Coast. A series of awards will be presented to winners selected by judges in a variety of categories.
Because Eastwood was unable to host a 2020 summer classic as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, “we expect a large turnout of cars, trucks, and motorcycles to attend this year,” Ed Martel, Eastwood’s senior director of retail, said. “We have increased the number of goodie bags given out to the first 500 cars,” he added.
Eastwood’s product development and tech teams will be on hand to answer automotive questions. The day also features live entertainment by the band “Second Time Thru,” as well as food choices and plenty of company product deals.
There’s also a special preview event planned for Friday (July 30) at 8:45 p.m., weather permitting. Eastwood will kick-off its Summer Classic with “a free showing of the automotive cult-classic movie, ‘American Graffiti.’ Bring your lawn chairs and blankets,” Martel urged.
