Fanfare Reopens McDonald’s Shoemaker Road Store
OFFICIALLY BACK IN BUSINESS – The newly redesigned and constructed McDonald’s Restaurant (at top), 189 Shoemaker Rd., completed its two-day grand opening observance Saturday (Aug. 14, 2021) with a variety of family activities that were free to the public. The project to remove the former combination of the restaurant and a BP fuel station, construct the new restaurant-only building, and install its surrounding landscaping and improved entrances and exits took several months.
CHAMBER RIBBON-CUTTING – McDonald’s franchise owners Bruce and Marcia Graham of Pottstown, members of their family, and management employees were joined July 30 (2021; Friday) by the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce to commemorate completion of their newly renovated McDonald’s restaurant on Shoemaker Road with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The renovation, which began in February, brought in state-of-the-art equipment to improve operations and dining options. The Grahams bought their first McDonald’s, located on High Street in Pottstown, in 1992; they now own 12. Bruce Graham is a former six-year member of the chamber board of directors; Marcia has held many regional and national McDonald’s leadership roles, most recently as president of its Philadelphia Cooperative Marketing Group. Their son, Michael, and his wife, Robin, have been with the company for more than 10 years. Their daughter Sara joined the organization following graduate studies.
