September Garden Tour Set in Pottstown, Boyertown
POTTSTOWN PA – A self-guided fall tour of gardens across Pottstown and Boyertown, which include previous winners of Mosaic Community Land Trust Home Garden contest awards, is scheduled for Sept. 18 (2021; Saturday) from 8 a.m. to noon, with an optional 12:30 p.m. lunch planned at Pottstown’s Iron Gate Biergarten, 230 E. High St.
The tour will start at Mosaic’s office, 724 N. Adams St., Pottstown, where guests will receive garden descriptions and a tour map, enabling them to visit any of the gardens during the four-hour period.
Tour guests also will be encouraged to visit Mosaic’s 423 Chestnut St. community garden to see both its plants and art displays. Members of Pottstown Community Arts, the art committee of MOSAIC, will have their artwork – nature photography, acrylic paintings, felt masterpieces, and other items – on display along fences surrounding the garden.
A portion of artwork sold will be donated to Pottstown Community Arts so it can continue to provide free art projects to local summer camps, complete the wall of murals behind the Pottstown Regional Public Library, install temporary public art projects, and host annual events such as the Oct. 30 “Haunts on High” event.
Tickets are available for purchase now at Eventbrite online, here; as well as from the Mosaic office, 724 N. Adams St., Pottstown, 484-214-5046, or at the office of Building a Better Boyertown, 3 E. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown. The tour alone costs $20 in advance or for $25 on the day of tour; the tour with lunch, $50. Food will be provided by Pottstown United Brewing Company.
The event is sponsored by Mosaic, Building a Better Boyertown, and the Pottstown Area Health & Wellness Foundation. A Sept. 25 (Saturday) rain date also is planned if necessary.
