Spring City Handles Cement Spill; None Stuck in Traffic

SPRING CITY PA – Volunteers from Spring City’s Liberty Fire Company helped keep community travelers from getting stuck – literally – in traffic Friday (Aug. 27, 2021) morning.

A truck driving Friday before 7 a.m. through the intersection of Bridge and Main streets in the borough “spilled around 20 bags of cement” that “busted open in the middle” of the lanes, the company reported on its Facebook page. No cause for the mishap was reported. See photos of the accident here.

It took about 30 minutes for a crew on Rescue 63 to sweep the cement dust off the roadway and re-open it to travelers. Spring City fire police also were at the scene, and temporarily closed portions of Bridge and Church streets so the work could be completed.

“Good thing no one suggested hosing down the road,” one post commenter joked.
